christmas tree O' christmas tree...
soo, last saturday, we went up into the woods to cut down our tree.
it wasn't as easy as you would think.we drove for almost four hours searching for a tree that wasn't 200 feet tall, but also wasn't crazy looking.
we finally found one pretty close tho the road we were on, and after passing it and driving for another 30miles or so, we turned around to cut it down.
dylan was D. O. N. E.
so here are a few pictures of eric cutting it down.

lovin this picture...

their reactions in this picture took on a new meaning when we got the tree home and measured it.
it was a mere 16 feet tall.
eric had to cut four feet off the bottom just to get it in the house. and to think that we were worried that it was too small.
it just looked little next to all of the BIG trees in the woods, we lost our perspective on what was a "normal" size tree:)
it turned out to be perfect. we had to remove furniture form the living room just to accomodate this beautiful monstrosity.
here are the pictures of us decorating on tuesday...

Looks like SOOOO much fun (except for the 4 hours of driving:))
We always used to cut down our own trees growing up ~ I loved it and looked so forward to doing it each year. It's great that you get to do this!
It's a very pretty tree and I love all the pictures of the "process"! :)
i love that their little heads are wet from the bath and i love dylan in his cute jams :)
These pictures are priceless. My favorite is the "view from outside". Hey, I know this month is busy for you, but I miss being in your house when it's all decorated. Maybe I could bring you a coffee next week and stop in real quick to get a quick little look-see ;) let me know...I'm free Monday and Tues morn!
I can't believe how big your tree was and how much you cut off! it is so beautiful and I bet the smell is fantastic! You can't beat the smell of a real tree! I agree with Tamar, my fav is the shot from outside!!
P.S. Congrats to your brother, you did a great job with their pictures!!
OH how I want to cut down a tree again. These pictures belong in a magazine... I can imagine this scene playing out in a movie with the Christmas carol in the background and the neighbor looking in the window to watch the beautiful perfect family being together decorating a tree...and then the carolers come and you have them in for hot apple cider... I can see it now.
I miss you and love you, I'm gonna try and call today!
I love these pics - so real! We cut our tree down last week - what an event!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
It's a beauty! Love the view from outside :) We have that same beaded garland on our tree :)
I love it! That tree is a monster though... betting it smells like Christmas!
